The Young Writer’s Workshop is a online workshop that is meant to connect aspiring writers ages 23 and below from across the world. We will “meet” two times a month on Skype, and we’ll post the schedule for our sessions to the right.

In order to join a session, you have to be a member of Goya Young Writer’s Workshop. See the about page for the benefits (and no risks) of becoming a member. Each session would last for around an hour to an hour and a half, depending on how many pieces that are being workshopped that day.

Here are some basic rules for workshop:

  • 3 pieces workshopped per session max (we want each writer to get the individual attention each piece deserves)

  • For those who wish to have their piece workshopped, they will need to send their work to the group 3 days ahead of time so the others can read it and prepare critiques. Please send them to the workshop’s email -

  • When critiquing another’s work, don’t simply deem the writing as either good or bad. Nothing is black and white. Instead, think of constructive feedback that can help the writer improve their work.

  • Everyone is encouraged to speak, but no one is required to submit their writing for workshop if they are uncomfortable with sharing.
